Introduction
The Master of Development Studies (MDS) is an interdisciplinary social science Masters programme focusing on problems of poverty and human development. The aim of the MDS is to offer a combination of background theoretical knowledge and concrete skills to understand, asses and work in Development-related fields. Students will acquire a critical social science approach which prepares them to make contributions to sustainable human development in a role such as policy makers, trainers or practitioners in government agencies, private firms and NGOs.

The programme institutionalizes a dynamic and strategic vision to provide an interdisciplinary, advanced, research-based and practical education in the contemporary world of development.
