This past Friday, October 31st, St. Paul's University was alive with excitement and glamour as students and staff gathered for the highly anticipated SPUSA Gala Dinner 2025. Serving as the grand finale to a vibrant Cultural Week, the evening was a spectacular celebration of diversity, talent, and community, culminating in the crowning of the new Mr. and Mrs. St. Paul's University 2025/2026. The event was a testament to the unity and spirit of the SPU community, bringing together students, faculty, and distinguished guests for a memorable night.
The success of the evening was bolstered by the dedicated presence of the University Management. Showing their profound support for student-led initiatives, Vice-Chancellor Rev. Canon Prof. James Kombo, DVC-AA Prof. Abraham Waithima, Dean of Students Rev. Daniel Kirienye, and Corporate Affairs Manager Mr. Michael Mungai braved the cold and chilly night to stand with the students. Their attendance underscored the university's commitment to fostering a holistic and vibrant student experience, blending academic pursuits with rich cultural and social engagement.
The gala was further illuminated by the presence of special guests and a stellar lineup of entertainment. The crowd was treated to a series of thrilling performances from celebrated Kenyan artists. Mandy and Iyani graced the stage, performing their hit songs and creating an unforgettable atmosphere of celebration. The energy went to another level when "Charisma" took the stage and delivered an electrifying set, performing his massive hit song "Sina Noma" to huge applause.
Adding to the distinguished guest list, Wakili Willis Otieno of the Safina Party was also in attendance. He joined the event to stand in solidarity with the "SPU comrades," sharing in the festivities and reinforcing the strong ties between the university and the wider community.
