H.E Sebastian Groth, The Republic of Germany’s Ambassador to Kenya Delivers a Public Lecture at SPU

Since time immemorial, the importance of collaboration cannot be overstated. Individuals, corporates and nations are not only seeking good working relationships among themselves but also collaborating on various aspects for mutual benefit. Kenya is no exception! It is also worth noting that these collaborations

do not thrive in a vaccum! There are various aspects that may either boost or hamper their success: foreign policies, democracy, laws, religion just to mention a few. Our country Kenya, renown for her hospitality, has worked with the Republic of Germany on various facets of foreign relations that transcend machinery - most nationals are fond of German machines. On Thursday 13th March 2025, the St. Paul’s University fraternity was delighted to host H.E Sebastian Groth, who delivered public lecture themed “The Kenyan-German Partnership in a Changing World”. His Excellency emphasized that Germany's support in spearheading democracy, the rule of law and human rights remains key while forging Germany's partnerships and collaboration agenda. "Germany is interested in developing inclusive, progressive and sustainable solutions for cooperation," indicated Ambassador Groth.

Prof. Abraham Waithima, the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs underscored the good historical relations Kenya and Germany have enjoyed for decades and appreciated the support the German Government has continued to provide in areas of climate change and humanitarian response.

Mr. Kennedy Waweru, the Ag. Deputy Vice Chancellor Finance & Administration on his part, appreciated H.E. Ambassador Groth for setting aside time from his busy schedule to avail himself and make a presentation to staff and students. He observed the session was insightful and timely.
