Receiving the esteemed ISO 9001:2015 is not a mean achievement! It provides a frame work that regulates an institution’s operations to align with provision of quality services, customer satisfaction, and continual improvement.
Members of the Board of Management, Senate, Quality Assurance Committee and ISO 9001:2015 Champions and Auditors, on Friday 7th February 2025, underwent refresher training on the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System facilitated by Dr. Kirema Nkanata Mburugu, the Director of Performance Contracting and ISO at the University of Embu (UoE).
Through his unique pedagogical prowess, the facilitator systematically took participants through the standard emphasizing quality, consistency, customer satisfaction, continual improvement and process efficiency. He broke down each of the principles in the standard in where the clauses are applicable and how each of them would be dealt with in ordinary practice and during an audit. He also shared insights on formulation of quality objectives, identification of risks and their controls, and identification of opportunities and capitalizing on them for maximum gain. The day wouldn’t come to a close without memorizing the Quality Policy Statement.
Prof. Lily Njanja, the Director, Quality Assurance, Mr. Kennedy Waweru, Ag. DVC Finance and Administration and Dr. John Muhoho, Director of Postgraduate Studies and Ag. DVC Academic Affairs led participants in appreciating the facilitator for sharing invaluable insights and leaner-friendly delivery methodology on the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
