Going Green: Students and Staff Participate in the National Tree Planting Day

Following gazettement of 10th May 2024 as a National Tree Planting Day, the St. Paul's University (SPU) Community led by the Mr. Michael Mungai, Deputy Corporate Affairs Manager heeded to the President's call, braced the morning cold to take part in the noble course. Through the University's able leadership, seedlings for

indigenous trees were procured to facilitate the exercise. This will complement the ongoing global efforts of combating climate change. Donned in SPU merchandise the students and staff arrived at the University's Ngecha farm and without much ado, each of them was allocated their seedlings, a hoe, spade and watering can. They the proceeded to their respective positions, to plant the seedlings. The participants pledged to adopt the seedlings to ensure non of them withers. They would check them regularly, weed and water whenever the rains would not pour.

The DCAM urged them to replicate the same in their respective homes in order to reach the national target. This and many more student engagement initiatives make delivery of a holistic education a reality at SPU.
