Afrobarometer is a Pan-African, independent, non-partisan research network that engages in public opinion and attitudes research in Africa. As a Pan-African, independent, non-partisan research network, Afrobarometer engages in public opinion and attitudes research in Africa. It is currently carrying out outreach programmes aimed at building capacity for faculty and students from African Universities on the use of the data for academic writing. The data provides a great opportunity for comparative studies in Africa, with one not having to visit various countries considering the cost involved.

The research network also does and aids publication of academic papers using the data. The rich and credible data is readily available for academic research, with universities across America and Europe using it for research/ thesis and dissertations on African related topics.
