INTERNET AND COMPUTER FACILITIES
St. Paul's University has provided computers and Internet facilities for use by students. There is a cyber cafe and a computer lab where students can access email and internet facilities, as well as type their assignments. Sponsors can use the facilities for sorting out issues with the University on matters of fees, etc. Please do not use the University email address expecting messages to be delivered to you and do not put pressure on secretaries to send or receive emails for you.
The use of mobile phones is prohibited in the chapel, lecture halls, library and in all meetings within the Universtiy. In all of these places mobile phones should be switched off
There is a variety of notice boards--in the entrance to the main hall, outside the library, in the cafeteria and at the women's center. Please check the notices regularly as they are used to pass information. If you have to comment or question a notice on any notice board, please approach the appropriate people. Avoid writing on notices, especially rude or derogatory remarks. If you have a complaint to make or you wish to question the writer of the notice, please ask the writer rather than writing a comment on the notice itself.
You are welcome to visit University offices to see those who are in charge of various areas of University life. While the people in these offices will be glad to serve you, avoid staying in the offices unnecessarily. If you are asked to make an appointment, please do so rather than ambushing those who are in charge in the corridors or at their office doors.
The University vehicles are available for work as designated by the University.
In order to ensure the smooth running of the vehicles the following should be adhered to:
- Academic Trips
Transport for student practical work is organised by the practicals co-ordinator and it takes precedent over all other trips. The dean of students who is in charge of the practical work for BD two students is responsible for making sure that transport is applied for at the beginning of semester and the practical rota is clearly stated. The University buses can only take 51 students at a time and this should be taken into consideration when the vehicles are applied for.
Transport for other academic trips should be applied for by the staff concerned to the Administrator through the Academic Deans office.
Sporting trips may be considered depending on the availability of the vehicles, the timing and the distance. Application for a sporting event should be done in writing through the sports patron, who is also the Acting Dean of Students, Rev. Dr. Emily Onyango.
- Other Trips
Any other trips can be considered depending on the type, the need, availability of the vehicles and the distance which should not exceed 200 kilometres return. Those involved with the trip should be ready to pay for the trip.
