Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Introduction
St. Paul’s has made another major milestone in providing training of Human Resource for Health We are glad to announce the commencement of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing intake in May 2019. This program is second after the Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery that commenced in September 2018. The long term goal in development of the Health Sciences is to pursue other major programs in Health Care.
Goals of the program
The goal of the BScN program is to prepare nurses at degree level who will have professional competence, the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to function effectively within a multidisciplinary health care team. The program will provide holistic training in nursing practice, administration, education, research and leadership.
Admission Requirements
- A minimum KCSE grade of C+ plus
- C+ (plus) in Biology or Biological Sciences
- C+ (plus) in English or Kiswahili
- C+ (plus) in Chemistry or Physical Science
- C+ (plus) in Mathematics or physics
All candidates admitted into this programme will be indexed with the Nursing Council of Kenya as per the provided guidelines.
Duration
The BScN Programme shall take duration of four (4) academic years which will be divided into trimesters. During the trimesters, students shall cover prescribed course units and clinical placements as scheduled in a logical sequence in the curriculum and Master Rotation Plan.
