Introduction

The program is an introduction to music knowledge and practice. It introduces the learners to a broad diverse aspects of music covering the following areas: Music Theory; Introduction to voice; Introduction to history of Western music; introduction to worship; music and worship; church music administration; African culture, communication and Music; Composing songs for choir and “Praise team”; Choral Ministries; Creative and Contemporary Worship; Introduction to Musical Instruments, Introduction to Studio and Recording; and History of African Choral Music.

Admission Requirements

  • KCSE grade D+ (plus) or its equivalent
  • No credit transfers will be provided

Certificate in Criminology and Security Management

Introduction

Criminology and forensic science are two extremely interesting courses that should be studied if one is serious about studying all aspects of crime. They are important courses that enable people to understand more about crime, its evolution and trends as well as the technical mechanisms of investigating crime and the general crime preventive strategies and mechanisms.

Objectives

  • To explore the nature, types, approaches and security new security related challenges and to boost human capacity to manage crime at local, grassroots and community levels.
  • Equip learners with skills to conduct scientific investigations and interpret official documents in addition to analyzing some of the major debates that dominate the existing literature on scientific crime investigation, prevention and management.
  • To train human resource required in various security related careers and professions within the public and private sector as well as skills to conduct criminology and investigative research.

Career Prospects

Criminology and forensic science graduates can work in many fields such as private security organizations ,public service organizations such as the Kenya police, Kenya prisons service, the probation department . Other areas include NGO’s, academia and consultancy among others.

  • Have scored a minimum grade of D+(plus) in KCSE and above
